Argentina

For many Argentina is Latin America, perhaps because of its strong identity and mythical place it holds in history.

Many icons come to mind – the tango, Evita, estancias and polo – a trip brings this iconography to life and introduces you to the immense natural beauty that equally characterizes this land. Argentines are renowned for their bold national pride and vibrancy, while cities like Buenos Aires are sophisticated and European in style. Argentina has so much to offer that this thrilling and fascinating country could fill a thousand itineraries.

Glaciers

Argentina's trekking heartland has thankfully escaped over development as of yet. You can stay at a lovely hotel which prepares the most delicious soup for you to take on your trek - thermos and cups included. You can also go ice trekking or ice climbing away from the masses in El Calafate. And for wildlife lovers there is plenty of opportunity for Condor viewing and fantastic views of the imposing Fitz Roy Mountain.

Northwest (Salta)

Northwest Argentina is the country's most historical and colorful region with its deep-rooted culture and traditions. Salta is probably the most seductive town of the Northwest, due both to its setting in the lovely Lerma Valley with the eye-catching contrast of its old colonial buildings and its modern urban architecture. Worth visiting are the strikingly beautiful cathedral, the colonial mansions and the Cabildo.

Enjoy the serene folk music while dining on some of the regions most delectable specialties: empanadas salteñas, tamales, humita en chala, carbonada, locro, and quesillo.

Wine Country

Mendoza, two hours by plane from Buenos Aires, is the heart and soul of Argentina's wine country, where European settlers introduced the ancient craft of winemaking in the 19th century. Nestled in the foothills of the Andes, this region is home to some fabulous estancias where you can stay and sample the local Malbec wines and excellent food (the region is also famous for its olive oil).

Home of the highest peak in Americas, Mount Aconcagua (6,982m/22,841ft) the region is naturally an all-year round sports destination with skiing, water-rafting down the fast Rio Mendoza, hiking and paragliding are just a few of the adventures on tap.

Valdes Peninsula

Considered to be one of the most valuable concentrations of wildlife in the world, the Valdes Peninsula boasts miles and miles of unspoiled beaches where you can sit and observe the resident populations Southern Elephant Seals and Southern Sea lions. Set on the eastern tip of Patagonia, the Peninsula is virtually an island with only a narrow strip of land connecting it to the mainland.

It is perhaps most famous for hosting the Southern Right Whales that frolic in its gulfs, but this World Heritage Site is also home to Orca whales who have uniquely changed their hunting strategies to survive in these coastal waters. The area certainly lives up to its nickname of the 'open air zoo'.

Buenos Aires

Buenos Aires is a teeming, throbbing cosmopolitan port city with a unique mixture of European, North America, and South American influences. In fact Portenos, as the inhabitants of this safe and comfortable city are known, are very proud of their European roots where German and Italian names outnumber Spanish.

The architecture and lifestyle reflect this mixture of elements and this can be seen in the many highly-individualized neighborhoods that make up the patchwork quilt of this city. It is also one of the world's top destinations for fashionistas looking for a unique find or a good bargain. Whatever your interests with our outstanding network of contacts we can bring generic experiences to life and show you the heart of this fascinating European-life city with its Latin twist.
